Northern Maritime Corridor
Northern Maritime Corridor (NMCII) is an EU-sponsored Interreg IIIB project that focuses on maritime transportation and regional development. Aberdeenshire Council is a full partner in the project with various sub-partners including Orkney Islands Council and Aberdeen Harbour Board.
The project aims to connect coastal areas and enhance regional development. Networking and promotion of trade and maritime transport are therefore key issues, in order to identify business potential and propose new services. In order to maximise potential, it is essential that close cooperation between the public sector and the private sector (production and service companies/ logistic players) is achieved in order to create innovative, cost effective and sustainable transport solutions.
